The work of the Church continues; it did not cease when the original disciples died. If we would like to grow the Church by 100 missions in the next ten years (a goal we are already on the way to achieving), then we need to double the amount of money going to missions. Throughout the remainder of the history of the early church, this mission continues to play out. Perhaps we can feed or clothe someone in need, or give shelter to a homeless person. We avoid egoism and give God His rightful glory by remembering that we can take up our cross only because God first reaches out to us and gives us the needed strength to do so.
